Help hooking up Components through VGA with Powerstrip

267 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  stanger89
Here is what I am working with:

Nvidia GeForce FX 5600 XT Video Card

Daewoo Non HD tv model #DTQ-27U4SC

I have Powerstrip but not real sure what settings I need

S video looks great, but i want a little crisper picture and better color. Before anyone asks why I care about Non HD components, I have researched it and I liked the results. So with that said, I have hooked up the tv through components to the VGA and the screen is garbled and the color is not right. When I changed the settings on the card to 512x380, I can see the screen just out of whack. I have installed power strip, I just don't know what setting I need to get it to work. Has anyone gone this route, and if so, what are the settings do I need? Plenty of people have just questioned me, and I am looking for someone who knows what they are talking about. Please help, as my head hurts.

your TV can do 480p, yes? 640x480 should work. You might need to fiddle around with powerstrip to minimize overscan. There's a big powerstrip guide thread around here someone, by Karnis. I'd try searching for that too.
You need a transcoder. Converting VGA to Component requires more than a cable.
