I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question but, for the life of me, I can't find an answer in the manual or the FE site:


Can I pass through VGA to the DVI output on the CS-2? If so, what input/output settings do I need to use?


Currently I'm taking component video, transcoding it to VGA and inputting into the VGA pass through on the CS-2. I get a picture through the VGA output, but not through the DVI output. I'm also inputting DVI and the DVI output is for that input is fine.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.


P.S. I'm using the latest CS-2 firmware.

I should have read your previous post more thoroughly.

Several questions for you:

1)What is the source that you are attempting to pass through?

2)At what resolution is that source?

3)What is your display device?

These three facts are imperative to determining the best solution.

A: Philips 50" plasma

PS: I've tried changing the ouput to 1080i.

I have a CS-2 and believe that the VGA passthrough is exactly that - a passthrough. As a result, I watch all inputs via the DVI output EXCEPT VGA which requires me to change to my display's input to VGA.


I asked FE technical support your question before purchasing the CS-2 and was told that VGA input can only output as VGA (passthrough). Please let me know if you learn any different - it would save me from changing my display's source.

I assume you change the OUTPUT to vga, too, right?

The CS-2 User Guide version 2.0 states on page 9 that the VGA In is HD15M active buffered VGA or Analog HDTV pass through. is this not the case for HDTV passthru ?


does the CS-2 only support VGA passthru or can you passthru analog HDTV ?
