Im going to be getting a screenplay 4805 soon and need some help in deciding which screen would be best. The room has no windows and I will be about 8-10 feet from the screen. I was going to ceiling mount the projector but after doing some research I believe my ceiling is too short so it will be on a table.

I was looking at the Da-lite pull down 84in. I need to know if I should get the model B or C (whats the differnece in the two?) and should I get one with a higher gain? Im looking at the high power with 2.8 gain.

thanks for the help

Highpower would work well in that situation. Just make sure you like an image that bright. The nice thing is you could add a ND filter to tone down the brightness and get some blacks back for movies and then just pop it off for the HD sports.

Now as far as the Model B vrs the C. With the High power material, wrinkles are not as big of a problem. I have a Model B matte white right now and I have not noticed any wrinkle problems and that screen is supposed to be prone to them.

The C offers a larger roller and is more robust so wrinkles are supposed to be much less of a problem.

So if cost is of no concern, get the C. If you want to save a few bucks then just get the B and consider adding the controlled return feature. It helps by rolling up the screen in a controlled manor and reduces the risk of screen damage. I don't have this and don't feel the screen is that hard to roll up manually. I have had mine for over a year and not one problem at all.

I have had a 50x50 model B for nearly thirty years and purchased a 45X80 model B a few months ago. Both are matte white. Unless you are going over 45X80 or are going to be constantly retracting the screen, the model B will perform just as well as the model C.
