I could use some advice in properly setting up my VP 50, TV and DVD player to integrate well togerther for use in the US.


I have the following equipment:


Pioneer Elite Profhd1 plasma TV (which accepts 1920 x1080 signal) with HDMI

Denon 1930CI DVD player with HDMI

DirectTV HR20 Hidefinition satellite receiver and DVR with HDMI

Denon 3806 AV receiver with HDMI, dolby digitial, DTS etc.

JVC S-video VCR


I have recently purchased a DVDO VP 50 and want to get the best performance from that for HD, SD viewing from the satellite as well as DVD viewing. I'm not a beginner but certainly not an expert. I would appreciate any advice on how to set up all of this to work together to get the best perfomance.

I'm curious as well, I have read that you separately run video sources to the scaler and then to the TV, and audio from the sources to the receiver. But, I don't know about syncing that and making it as practical as possible. Plus, I am preparing to invest in a new system, and wondered how folks might incorporate a scaler for a budget system and if I should wait.


I certainly don't want to hijack the thread, I am as curious as you!
