HELP - Is this covered under BenQ warranty?...

Hi everyone.


My new BenQ PB-6100 DLP projector has less than 300-hours on the bulb. It's less than 5months old. I bought it new from BUY.COM for $750


Well, I thought DLPs do not get screen-burns, or discolorations....


but the left side of my screen has a darker vertical bar. It's barely noticeable now... but I'd hate to see what it would look like 1000hours into the bulb life.


Please let me know if this is normal for a DLP. Also, will BenQ or BUY.COM have to exchange the projector? Or am I just royally screwed for buying a cheep unit?


Oh, and I just noticed that now it only says BULB hours = 2hr 50min, when it should be around 300min. WEIRD....

I bought a new PB6200 last May from Visual Apex. Last December I noticed several dust blobs. You could only see them during very dark scenes. Benq tech support was AWESOME. They offered to fix my unit or send me a refurbished hot-swap. I chose the hot-swap and it also had dust blobs. Then they sent me a brand new unit. It was perfect and I still have more than 2 years left on the warranty!
