Help - Long Ipod to Amp run

778 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  vbalani
I want to hook up my Ipod as a source to my Nuvo distributed audio system. The Nuvo is not sophisticated enough to operate the Ipod, so I'd like to situate the Ipod in the main listening area and select songs directly. The distance is about 40 to 50'. I've seen Sonance's Iport, but it seems like an expensive solution to my problem.

My nuvo takes line level RCA inputs. I'm wondering if anyone has a better way besides using a long RCA cable out of the ipod headphone jack (speaker level?) or the ipod universal dock (line level?). TIA

for quality transmission over long runs , try Line audio (from dock) over Cat5 solution from Audio control. This device will convert line audio to balanced audio and can transmit the signal over regulatr cat5 with virtually no signal loss and free from interference.
