I know there are lots of these threads but no matter how much reading I do, this stuff really confuses the hell outta me. My budget is around $250-300 for a new receiver.

I'm slowly upgrading my entire system...a new tv to hopefully come soon, a larger LCD with HDMI inputs.

My setup right now is this:

Samsung HLN467W DLP TV With 1 DVI port

Bose Acoustimass 10 series III 5.1 Surround Sound

Onkyo TXSR501

DirecTV HR20-700 HD/DVR

BDP-S350 Blu-Ray player

XBOX360

I want my new receiver to be able to process both the audio and video from the HDMI outputs from my DirecTV, Blu-Ray, and Xbox360 connections and play them through my TV and Stereo.

I hope this makes sense, I basically want a receiver with several HDMI ports that will play both the audio and video from my HDMI devices for simplicity. Hope this makes sense, let me know if there is any more info you guys need or if I need to clarify something.

THANKS!

For that price range, take a look at the Denon AVR-788 from Amazon, or perhaps you can track down a deal on the Onkyo 606 (great refurb pricing available from Onkyo's factory outlet store). An HDMI to DVI cable will keep your Samsung TV in the game for quite some time, and you can then use the money to get some better speakers instead.
