Hey everyone, I'm a total newb here so any help and advice is much appreciated.

I plan to purchase my first home audio system shortly, it will be in steps so I can get some better quality equipment. I planned on purchasing focal speakers, the chorus 807v's and a receiver will be my first purchases of the setup, then in the future i plan on getting a sub, followed up by a cc800 center and focal domes for the rears. I feel i dont need a receiver with lots of bells and whistles, but something that can put out very quality sound. I plan to use the system for tv watching, sports, walking dead, game of thrones, and movies. Also play ps4, and also listen to music. What I'm looking for is an avr that will power those speakers nicely with quality sound, i feel a 5.1 system is all i need because there are no other areas i will need to listen to music in my home. So far the denon avr-x1000 has my attention will it power the equipment mentioned above nicely with quality sound or should I look in a more expensive price range? Give me advice and ideas please. Thanks.

The X1000 is a great choice. I would go with it.
