I want to spend around $250 for a decent pair of floor standings. I am unable to decide what is better. Please help me choose.

1. Boston Acoustics VR1 (used)

2. Polk Monitor 50 (or 60s) (new)

3. Energy C-300 (new)

4. Paradigm Cinema Phantom (new)

5. KEF C5

I was able to audition the paradigm and liked the sound but the speakers are too small. I am looking for good low end coverage and I will be using 50-50 for music and movies. Are the Boston VR1s worth $250 for a used pair ?

For music it is very important to listen before you buy even if that means buying used if you don't have a lot of retail places near you. Polks are bright, Energys are warm and neutral.
