I agree your openion but its not mine

I'm technician,Need to repair this ,so if u have any suggestion, share it here
On the old HD DVD players wasn't there a pinhole opening on the front of the drive mechanism that manually triggered the tray opening when you pushing a paperclip into it? (Just trying to help. Probably not a solution, but a start toward a solution.)
did cyberhome even make an HD-DVD player...i wasnt aware
Nope, they didn't, not that one anyway.

Dig, sorry, wrong forum... And the initial advice was good, it was just a $50 DVD player five years ago. Not likely worth fixing unless you have a lot of time and skill. If you do, then why not open it up and poke around.

I think so here no body have share suggestion

Anyway can u tell me how to do flash dvd player via which software
Dig, start googling that player and see if there's still a forum for it. I really don't know. If not, maybe the wayback machine site would have old forums where you could read old info. As far as flashing new firmware, you can't if the player is dead.

Anyway, good luck. Sorry but we really can't help you here. This forum is for High Definition DVD.

Didnt' think so but it appears so

It's not - it's just a DVD player that sold for about $50 many, many years ago. If he wants a project to tear in to then sure but not worth investing money in.

Yeah, a friend of mine has an old Cyberhome player. They look almost exactly like the Magnavox and GPX players I've seen around.

Why anyone would want to repair them when you could get a new one (another brand, anyway) for likely less than the cost of the labor is beyond me.
The CH-300 sold on black Fridays in the US for $19.99, I bought two. It wasn't a bad player in it's day but wouldn't play RW discs so I sold both mine. Others like the newer CH-320 because it plays a wide variety of computer burnt DVDs often better than big names like Sony etc.

In the US it's certainly not worth fixing, but I believe the OP resides somewhere else where they might fix things instead of tossing them out like in the US.

I don't have a solution for the OP other than to maybe look at the power supply electrolytic capacitors. They're a big fault in many electronics devices of the age of the Cyberhome. Look for any bulging or leaking caps near where the power plug attaches in the main unit.

I'm assuming the HD DVD reference was a joke referring to the age of the little Cyberhome

I have a Terrapin TT-1800DVD which is the exact same model, if you want.

Actually ... not exactly the same. It works ...

I hope you didn' t throw it away by now.

I have one of these I got used, tried it for the first time last night when I wanted to watch an off-region PAL DVD. I got the same behavior, the power light changes color when you press a switch but nothing happens.

I figured I had nothing to lose so I took it apart. There is a fuse inside, but mine was intact and jumping it made no change. I didn' t see any obvious damage. I took mine completely apart, lots of screws and I took the front bezel off the tray too (not sure if it was necessary). The only thing connecting the unit to the power supply was a four pin cable, red/black/black/yellow.

This connector is exactly the same as a PC floppy disk power connector. I jumpered mine using bits of wire from a spiral bound notebook, but I bet you could just pull out the cable and connect your floppy power connector directly to the unit (I'll have to try that). Also, you just have to take the cover off to do this, not take it apart completely like I did.

Anyway I got to watch my movie! I just hooked it up to an old computer I had, but a separate, older AT style power supply (versus modern ATX) would work better. Those had a mechanical power switch on them.

I was searching on the web for a fix to the power supply board when I found this post, so I thought I'd put this information out there.

(Okay, I should get an award for the most craptastic DVD player on the AVS Forum for this.)

Interesting fix, I knew many times the cheaper no-name players/recorders used PC drives but I didn't realize that extend to the power supply
