I'm looking to build my first set up here.


Will be used on an older 50" Panasonic plasma for the time being.


Deciding between Pioneer FS51 speakers or Infinity p363. The Pioneer deal is hard to pass up.



What range of amps should I be looking for? I'm essentially a n00b when it comes to all this.


I'll be going with a 3 speaker set up for now (left/right/center) and eventually surround.

Well, what features are you looking for? Also, what are the dimensions of your listening area? If it's on the larger side it might make sense to go with the P363s (for output) or with a more powerful AVR for the FS51s (lower sensitivity).

the space is essentially 13x17.


The TV to couch is the short ways. viewing distance is about 8 feet.


I'm not too familiar with all the features out there. I know Airplay and Audyssey is talked about frequently on here. Seems like good things to have. Anything you would suggest?

i'd go to the store and listen to/fiddle around with a couple of different brands to see what your preference is, everyone has their own taste
