My work is looking for a portable projector for under $3000. The old projector was stolen and we need to replace it pronto (I need to find an answer in the next day or so)....

We are not looking for something for home use, so fan noise is not really an issue but something compact and portable (under 12 pounds)would be nice....

Our uses will be limited to powerpoint presentations and the like so a 16:9 display area is not a must. I have seen some DLP projectors here and there for around 3 grand but we are not apposed to LCD or CRT projectors...

Do you guys know any models, prices and/or online retailers that have great deals?

Thanks in advance....

The PLUS U3-880 fits the bill. Good projector, light, under $3K.

what to you guys think about the Boxlight CD-455m.

I did a search of the top ten rated projectors by price and found that the Infocus LP340 was the top rated projector under 3 grand....

Upon closer examanation, it seems the Boxlight is a clone of the Infocus projector. It has the same weight and dimentions (hell, it even LOOKS the same) but the max resolution on the infocus is 800x600 while the Boxlight can go up to SVGA res (1024x768)res max.

On the surface, the boxlight looks to be the best hands down....

Is there something about this projector that I don't know about since the (seemingly) inferior infocus is rated #1 and the boxlight is #7?
