My Sony VPH-1292QMG shows a strange picture! The brightness ist way too low and the colors are not right. Also there ist an extremely strong kind of "streaking". Not the normal streaking, but a very annoying effect.

It is without any input signal. Also the warmup screen shows this strange effects! It is on all 3 tubes so it has to be on a higher level video board I think. :(

Does anyone have an idea which part could be damaged?

Guys!

As a Servo One owner, I had some fun looking at your Infinity site! Mike was my guest here a couple months ago and he will attest to the performance of thirty year old ServoStatik Ones, updated with two BagEnd Infrasub 18's for the lows. As to your Sony problem, I would try replacing the green video amp card, unless all three tubes are smearing (?)

Nooooooooooo! I think I killed it!:( :( :(

I replugged nearly every card and checked that every cable is connected. Nothing helped, but the unit still worked.

After I checked the board in the back (under the metal behind the 3 fans) I turned it on again and when the tubes has to show the warmup screen I heard a "click", it sounded electrically! Now the tubes don't show anything when I turn it on! They remain black. But I still can here the high voltage and there is no error code. Also the unit stays on.

Why did I check this? Damn, this ist always the same!:(

Don't know the 1292, but I have a 1270 that had that problem along with other display problems. I swapped neckboards and the like as suggested but it turned out to be the video boards. My cross ventalation across the video chip heat sinks was restricted due to dust in the foam filters. If the neckboards prove to be OK then I would say you might want to look at video board (s). Just my 2 cents.
