I just found this site and seems you guys really know your stuff so I'm hoping you all can help.


I have a Sony CPJ-A300 LCD projector which I purchased about 2 years ago. I've used it about 150 hours with not even a hint of a problem until last night when it shuts off in the middle of THE ARRIVAL. I try turning it back on, no go. I end up unplugging it and turning it on again. It works, starts projecting for about 10 seconds, flickers and shuts off again. Once again, cant turn it on. I unplug it, plug it back, turn it on and the same thing happens ( picture for 10 seconds, flickers and shuts off leaving the on/standby button flashing). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

How new is the bulb? If it's not the bulb, might be the powersupply. But I'm just guessing from the info given.

Tim, thanks for replying. The bulb is original and came with the projector. The fan seems to work fine and was working at the time it first shut off. It also worked afterwards when I turned the projector on again. Would a picture be projected, even for a few seconds, if the bulb was bad?
