Just purchase the sound card 3 days ago to replace my Audigy card after reading so many favourable reviews. After setting up the card, I started to play a DVD movie using PowerDVD 4.0. The sound that came out is really disappointing. There was a lot of stuttering, one second there's sound, another there isn't.

Later increased DMA buffer size to maximum (15msec) which greatly improved the sound but still occasional stuttering, ie sound stop for 1 second after playing for 10-15 seconds. Under Digital Out, have checked Wave Playback, Original and NonAudio. Not sure what else to adjust. Email to Terratec support but did not receive any reply. Maybe staff too busy watching World Cup to reply.

My PC settings are as below:

Pentium III 500MHz

96MB RAM

Asus DVD-ROM E616

Sony CD-ROM CDU4811

btw, I've using one IDE cable to connect the two drives. Asus DVD-ROM is configured as MASTER and SONY CD-ROM as SLAVE. Using digitial out (coxial) to connect to Denon AVR-3802 AV receiver. No problem playing CD and the sound from sound card to receiver was really good. Wish the same for DVD though.

Really appreciate any advise.
