I also want to add that I'm using the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Video card so I would want a stand alone PVR, not something like a ATI AIW card

Help? Need Non Hauppauge PVR
I need suggestions for a PVR which is NOT made by Hauppauge. For some strange reason, neither the PVR 150 MCE nor the 250MCE will load on my computer. The OS does not detect the cards and the cards will not work even after the drivers are loaded.
I'm using a Socket 754 MSI Neo Platinum mobo with an Athlon 64 3400 CPU. I just need something that won't be a headache. It would be nice if it was also something I could pick up locally (Washington, DC) as I've lost so much time shipping cards back and forth between here and CA.

I think I found a card, the Theatre 550 Pro from ATI. Seems to be fine as long as you are using MCE2005.

it sounds like you did something incorrectly and buying another card will not fix this
there are so many using the hauppauges that you will have support and then furthermore it means probably you just need some support
the ATI card is unproven and with the current state of the drivers the PVR 150 is still the superior card
