I successfully moved a movie from my 4080 to DVArchive, however it will now play in Windows Media Player - can't find proper codec, and my Replay also cannot play the movie, even though it "sees" it.


Running Windows XP, 933 MHz PIII, Linksys Wireless Lan


Error in the Events Log is: Error sending served file G:\\Replay\\Local_Guide\\1036297497.ndx -- Software caused connection abort: socket write error

download the Elecard player for the codec


You will not have much success with a 8.11b network for streaming back to the Replay; it's just not fast/stable enough. You'll need a hardwired connection, preferably 100BT.

I have never had problems streaming from DVA to Replay over 802.11b but I have a very good signal. As for Windows Media Player, use VideoLan ( www.videolan.org ) instead.

Can someone give me detailed instructions on setting up VideoLan? I am clueless!!


I am upsing Windows XP Pro. I have MP 9.0 installed (beta) already and I just can't get streaming video from my replaytv. Videolan looks really complicated.
