I'm running win2k sp2 and was unable to get the slave on the secondary to support DMA (it's an IDE HD, it should work)

I removed the Secondary IDE controller and rebooted, came back with the property dialog without the advanced settings tab. Hmmm, I tried deleting the whole IDE controller device, still no luck. Every time the advanced settings tabs were gone.

Anyone know how to get this settings option back? I'd really like to be able to set to DMA if available.

Thanks!

Just posting an update:

I fixed the problem, here's how in case anyone else has the same problem here's what I did.

In the device manager I changed the driver for the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller from Intel driver to a Microsoft driver (net search for an update produced two MS drivers, I too the Dual channel driver). After rebooting the new driver allowed access to the primary and secondary channel advance settings tab. I switched the controller driver back to the Intel driver and rebooted. Upon startup the advance settings tabs were back.

Not sure how/why this happened, but I'm glad I was able to get the tabs.
