I recently purchased the Energy rc-micro 5.1 system and need help picking out a receiver. My budget is between 250-350. My setup includes the Panasonic TC-P50G15.

I have been looking at the following receivers:


Pio VSX-819

Pio VSX-919

Onkyo - tx-sr507

Onkyo - tc-sr606

Denon - AVR 1610

Look at this Denon, does all of the sound decoding and a few other things. Well worth the money and has latest Audyssey. Same unit as the Denon 1610 that costs $25 more.

Would you recommend the Denon over Pioneer and Onkyo?

I have narrowed it down to three receivers and I need your help deciding which one to buy, this receiver will go with the Energy RC-Micro 5.1 system.


Pioneer VSX-919AH-K

Onkyo TX-SR507

Denon AVR-590

I would recommend the Denon, but I am a Denon fanboy just to be clear. I own quite a bit of their gear and have bought a few units as gifts. All are functioning like new, one unit is going on ten years and still pulls its weight in my living room.

I am trying to put together a mini theater in my family room as I have a dedicated HT... looking for a budget receiver to drive at the present just 3 speakers... Center/ R/L;... This Denon looks to be a good one for my needs. However; I copied this below from Amazon and wanted confirmation that this DEnon allows me to use just one cable HDMI; for both Audio and Video. The word "repeating" below kinda threw me off? Thxs in advance!
