Hi,

I have a strange problem with this drive. I uploaded firmware BT01 which was supposed to make the drive RPC1. However, neither WinDVD3.0 nor PowerDVD 3.0 allow any more to change the region code whereas the ATI Player does not seem to bother at all.

Any ideas? I tried everything with DVDGenie, to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Christoph

P.S.: I am running Win98SE

DVD Genie would not fix the problem, but Region killer finally did, just in case somebody runs into the same problem ;)

Cheers

IMPORTANT! If you are using CloneCD3 under Windows 2000 or XP, please update to CloneCD 3.2.1.1 before installing DVD Region Killer 2!

RegionKiller 2 Setup (English & German) for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

RegionKiller 2 takes care of the proper functioning of your (Region Code free) DVD Drive - from now on you'll be able to watch foreign DVDs on your home theater PC without being hassled by possibly non-working DVDs.
  • Windows 2000/XP: Do not use player software that uses an ASPI driver - RegionKiller 2 will not work. We recommend the latest versions of Cinemaster, ELSA, ATI or Power DVD
  • Windows 95/98/ME: Before you install RegionKiller 2, please check if you've already installed a previous version of RegionKiller - if you have, please uninstall it before you do anything else. After the you've uninstalled, verify that the file REGKILL.VXD was removed from C:\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM\\IOSUBSYS

Setup Version 2.5.0.1 (about 139 KB)
