The other day when I came home and powered on my RCA UTV I saw the standard WebTV screen and it said "must call in to WebTV for upgrade" I did so and it downloaded for over an hour and then repeated this. I cannot hit cancel, I cannot get to TVHome, I cannot access any DirecTV function--only WebTV. It is as if my hard drive was pulled from the machine. The HD does make a "click-whir" sound when you power it on or off (cant remember which) and as soon as the download process starts. But something is failing. code 12357 does nothing. I tried the other 5 digit code as wellas the 8675309 and it still is not working.
One difference--when the unit is powered off I get a solid black screen instead of standard snow/static since TV is on channel 3. This is quite odd. I have taken the HD out and tested it, done everything. I guess I will have to send back to RCA but I dread doing that and I have already been without TV for several days! ANY ideas guys????
