You'll likely want to consider the Denon X4000 which has the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 vs only MultEQ in your 1909.
is the multiED XT32 that great? how are the pioneer elites?

I'm not sure on the Pioneer but I will say that I agree with jdsmoothie on his advice to go with the Denon X4000. I currently have the Denon 3313CI (which was last years model and sadly does not have the XT32 but does have MultiEQ XT).

Personally I like Audyssesy over all when compared to other room calibration software. I think you should notice a nice difference using the XT32 over the MultiEQ you currently have. I'm thinking of upgrading next year for the XT32 based on the positive feedback that a lot of people have provided on these forums.

which is better? x4000 or 4311?, is pioneer any good?
Pioneer is ok but I prefer Audyssey XT32 by a long shot. I've used them both. If you don't care about 4K video I'd swing with the 4311. Of course that's just one opinion.

The X4000 is a new model. The 4311 is the previous flagship model which is discontinued. The 4311 can still be had new with the 3 year warranty. Just look at both and compare features. IF you call the # in Jd's sig he'll quote you a good price on the X4000. Doubt they have any 4311's. You could take a look on amazon for the 4311.

Crutchfield has the 4311 for the same price as the X4000. I'm pretty sure the 3313CI was last years equivalent to this years X4000. Therefore the 4311 was last year's step up over the 3313. I don't know if the there are a lot of differences between the X4000 and the 4311 except for the watts per channel (wpc) and the 4k.  The 4311 has 140 wpc where as the X4000 has 125 wpc. They both have XT32 which is worth it in my opinion. But as stanley pointed out the 4311 seems to be lacking the 4k, which I personally don't think matters. I would take the 4311 if I could get it at the same price as the x4000.

I have never owned a pioneer so I can't say.

The 4311CI is actually the step up model from the 3311CI as both were released 3 years ago in 2010 while the 3313CI was just released last year. Also the 4311CI is the predecessor to the current flagship model 4520CI and although has a much more robust power supply, able to power 4-ohm speakers at reference level volume, it does lack a few of the newer features that the X4000 offers which is why it's important to consider what features are required as each model has it's advantages.
