The i7 880 is more than capable of the job.
However, if all you are going to use this setup for is a simple HTPC, you might be better off looking at a newer i3 or the AMD Fusion chips. These chips come with graphics on the same die and there is no need for a separate video or audio card (both via HDMI) for HTPC duties.
