I have a Onkyo HT-S894 5.1 system with 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI Output.

I need to connect Cable Box Motorola from Comcastvia HDMI, ,that will take one HDMI input and use the only HDMI output from the receiver to connect to Panasonic LCD with 3 HDMI inputs.

Now I also have an ONKYO DVD DV-SP404 player that connects via HDMI.

This can be connected to Receiver on the other HDMI input (free).

But , can i use the same HDMI output from the receiver to the Tv , to watch DVD's...?...

Or I have to connect the DVD directly to the TV via HDMI and the sound part to the receiver via left and right analog cables,(No optical on the DVD).

If that is the case ,will the receiver be able to process sorround sound ...?

Sure. The receiver is designed to switch between the HDMI inputs and route the video through the one output.
