Help - Panasonic AE900 / HDMI issue
I have finally hooked up my new Denon 2806 with my Panasonic AE900 projector. I purchased a 15ft HDMI cable from Monoprice to run from my equipment room to my theater. The problem is - I'm not getting any signal over the HDMI. I can hook up component or S-video and it works fine - but on the HDMI input, I get nothing but a blue screen.
Anyone out there have a similar problem? Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to correct this? Thanks!!

I haven't had a chance to pick up an alternate cable yet - this is the only HDMI cable that I currently have. I am running a regular DVD player in to the receiver, using S-Video and RCA plugs for the sound. The receiver picks up the sound find from the DVD player, and plays it back with no problem.
You have to go HDMI into a switching unit/reciever to get HDMI out. Do you only have HDMI going from Denon to Projector? Can you just go from DVD straight to the projector temporarily to test the cable?
I have a Panny AE900 too. I have cable TV on HDMI and DVD player on component inputs. I bypass the video switching of my reciever because of some of these HDMI issues. Do you turn on your projector first? I do and then the cable box and then other stuff. You may want to have the projector on first to let the Denon "see it" when it comes on to allow the signal to pass to it.
Also my Samsung DVD player switches to HDMI in ten seconds automatically after I plug in an hdmi cable so I don't. There are some funky problems with HDMI and handshaking issues. Tell me more about exactly what is cabled to what with what type of cable.

Denon 2806 (HDMI monitor out) connected to Panasonic AE900 (HDMI in) via 15ft HDMI cable (Monoprice HDMI to HDMI CL2 rated 24AWG gold plated cable).
I have one Panasonic DVD player connected to the Denon via regular RCA cables for audio and video. I have one Panasonic DVD player connected to the Denon via S-Video cable and regular RCA cables for audio.
At this point, I am just testing connections and hoped to be able to convert all of my analog signals to the HDMI output through the Denon. I haven't purchased my final DVD player yet, so I don't have direct HDMI output on my DVD player (yet). The Denon is the only source component that I have that has HDMI capabilities at this point.
If I go directly from one of my DVD players to the projector, via S-video or RCA cable, it picks up the signal just fine. In all cases, the Denon plays the audio just fine.

Did you assign your digital inputs correctly in the Denon setup
After working with this all weekend, I believe that there is an issue with my receiver itself. I decided to try both the component outputs, and regular video outputs. No matter what combination of input source and output source I used - I could not get a video signal to my projector.
I purchased this receiver as an open-box at BB. I took it back to them on Sunday and asked them to look it over, and confirm that the video outputs where in good shape. They, of course, just boxed it up and sent it in to Denon for service.
To hear you talk about assigning the digital outputs worries me a bit. I did not get a remote when I purchased this receiver, and have working to get one. As such, I haven't gone through any of the set-up on the receiver. My assumption was that it should at least pass through analog video signals from the start.
Have I jumped the gun on taking it back to BB? Was there a simple solution that I missed as far as setting up the receiver incorrectly? Any insight you could provide would be most appreciated (I'm learning as I go here...). Thanks!
