I've been given the fun job of choosing a digital projector for my aquarium club. The budget is $2000 max. Of course, I want to get the most bang for my club's bucks, and would like to include a spare lamp...

It'll primarily be used to do powerpoint presentations and play DVD's from a laptop. Rarely, if ever, will a VCR or standalone DVD be hooked up to it.

I'd like something new with a warranty.

I'm currently leaning toward the Dell 3200 MP, but wouldn't mind something brighter than 1100 lumens.

Hello: I have a Sony VPL CX5 data projector - 2000 lumens and I think you can find this one on the web for about $2000.

I use it in my HT for TV and DVD viewing but this class of projectors has been designed for things like Powerpoint presentations. When I bought mine an extra lamp was thrown in as part of the deal.

Check out Jensenav.com and other web sites.

Regards,

Richard
