As far as I know, there are only 2 DLP - Rear projection TVs on the market today, and both are $10,000.00 or more.

I know this may be hard to believe, but an attorney recently handled a matter for us, without charging a fee. We want to do something for him and we know he's into home theater, and he's commented to a 3rd party that the only thing he's missing is a DLP widescreen TV. I know these guys are relatively new, and was hoping someone could give us some suggestions. He had commented that he saw these as cheap as $3K on ebay. I searched ebay, but found nothing. We'd like to spend between $3k and $5k. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Unless they have gone down in price, they are very expense sets. The first one that came out about 6 months ago was about 12,000. I think another company came out with one, maybe that one was cheaper, I dont know.

Is it possible that he meant setting up a DLP projector as a rear projector? I haven't checked lately but the translucent screens for rear projection were pretty pricey.

Thanks guys. He mis-spoke. He did mean a front projector...


So... what would you suggest in that price range for a front projector, and is buying from ebay safe (not vendor wise, but do I need a local vendor to support it, or can we do it on our own)
