Hi Guys,

I have spent over couple hours trying to figure how to have auto audessy speaker set up run with only 5.1 set up. But, I can't get the reciever to turn surround speakers off with out turning rear surround off too! So my questions are:

Does auto audessy setup works with 5.1 setup?

How do I tell the reciever there are no surround speakers?

All help and input greatly apprecaited!

Thanks

i have try'd running the set-up and get the same error everytime...

I have kef 2005.2 speakers and the onkyo 605...

It goes through the automatic set-up.... til it reaches the right back speaker...

then brings up an error flashing both SR : no and SBR : Yes...

it doesn't bother looking for the SBL or SL, just stops at this stage...

I can get sound out of all the speakers... but i don't seem to be able to run the set up through? nothing is blocking either the onkyo or the speakers...

any help or thoughts....

You are expected to have SR/SL speakers if you have SBR/SBL. The latter are less useful and effective. Switch your surrounds to SR/SL and turn off SBR/SBL.

Thanks Kal.. I figured it out that day by reading top 10 mistake post! Also, does it make any difference having your rears plugged as surrounds.

Isn't that what we just discussed?
