HELP! Projector Problem

289 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Daventry
Hi, i have had my HP XB31 Projector for over a year now without problems. I have had Directv for the same period. I have been running s-video to the projector for video. I just bought a RCA DTC-100 Directv HDTV reciever and hooked it up through VGA monitor output and into my DVI input on the projector. I can get ALL the HD channels to come in fine, but none of the normal stations come in normally. The looks like it changes inputs... but doesn't and then says COMPUTER, 1924 x 1080 @ 30 MHZ or something like that. The picture is VERY small vertically and stretched out A LOT Horizontally. I hook it up to my computer monitor and it looks fine. I tried all the different settings on the reciever. What can I do? please help. I am guessing that I might have to run my HDTV through a computer and then have the computer feed my projector. Any ideas ?

thanks in advance.

I guess you mean you are using the computer monitor cable for the XB-31 and not the DVI cable.

Did you try hitting the source button on the XB-31 remote to get it to try to find another format?

If that fails, try using a s-video connection (yeah, I know) as an experiment for the regular channels.

BTW, I downloaded the DTC-100 manual and it reads like an idiot's guide; no technical info at all.
