I am in need of some help. I just set up my new Panasonic Projector (AE900U) and picked up the Samsung DVD-HD860 unconverting DVD player. I hooked up the DVD through the HDMI cable to the projector and hooked the audio up through a digital coax cable to my JVC receiver.
The problem, I am only getting two channel audio through the receiver. I have tried to change the settings on the audio menu (digital out) back and forth between the only two options (PCM [which is two channel only] and Bitstream).
When I set it to bitstream the DVD player shows that the HDMI cable does not support digital audio. Even with this message I still get audio through the reciever, however, it is still just 2 channel.
I am obviously missing something simple. There should be someway to tell the DVD player that audio will go through either HDMI (which I don't want) or through coax or toslink.
Any suggestions?
