HELP! Sanyo Z1 Screen door problem

435 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  mrad
:( Help Please. I have a Sanyo Z1 and out of the blue I'm getting a really bad screen door effect. I've noticed it a little bit over the past few weeks but when I turned it on today it is really bad. I thought maybe it was the cables or another unit like my TIVO causing the problem but it happens with TIVO, xbox 360 and DVD through component cables and S Video. Any suggestions? :(

If the gaps between illuminated pixels are omnipresent and as wide as the pixels themselves you have a projector problem, possibly a fatal failure.

Thanks. I have submitted a repair request with Sanyo

How bad is "really bad?" The Z1 has a pretty visible screen door effect, but it sounds like yours got worse overnight. Any pictures you could post?
Screen door doesn't get better or worse (unless you're just changing the focus). Screen door is the dark "grid" or mesh between each individual pixel.

You might be talking about vertical banding. This does come and go. Vertical banding are slight vertical bands spaced about 5 or 10 pixels apart wherein the color of the pixels isn't uniform (when it should be) and causes the bands to stand out.
