I'm trying to repair this TV that I found in the trash. Notice the dark shadows to the right of everything on the screen. I took out the circuit board and looked it over. I can't find any bad solder connections or bad capacitors. I'm suspecting a bad capacitor somewhere but everything looks good. I've tested a bunch of them with an ESR meter and can't find any problems. This doesn't seem like a problem that can be fixed in the service menu. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

If turning the contrast and brightness down causes it to go away it is likely the tube.
If that doesn't affect it, it is likely a weak capacitor in the video section.

Adjusting the brightness and contrast makes no difference. So far I tried changing a few capacitors that were a bit high in ESR on the CRT neck board. That did not not make a difference. Now I'm looking at the D-Board. I found a bunch of capacitors with ESR that starting to get a bit high near the two voltage regulator ICs MCZ3001DB. The rest of the circuit board looks fine. I checked nearly every capacitor on the board and everything else looks good.

Location ESR
C6508 47uf 35V 4.1 ohm
C8025 47uf 35V 2.1 ohm
C6517 4.7uf 50V 4.1 ohm
C6519 10uf 50V 4.0 ohm
C8002 10uf 50V 3.5 ohm
C8033 10uf 50V 3.8 ohm
C8031 22uf 63V 2.2 ohm

I'm going to start by changing all the 50V caps listed above since I have all those laying around. I will post my results within a few days.
