I just purchased two 5 channel amps off of ebay, the sunfire cinema grand and an aragon 2005. I was hoping to get one and ended up with both.....


Anyway, I'm powering a Polk Lsi9/LsiC/ 5.1 setup. Probably 60% movies and 40% music. I spent about the same $ on both and only need one (actuall spent a little less on the sunfire).


Any thoughts on which would you recommend keeping and which should I sell?

Who don't you try them both and let your EARS decide which one to keep?

Keep the one which you think sounds best.

OK, I deserved that one. Ask a dumb question, get an obvious answer I guess I was anticipating that there may not be a major difference in sound quality and that there may be some other considerations that others here may have direct knowledge of. For example, will one be more reliable than the other, have a better resale value than the other, have features or capabilities that I should consider etc... I know I've gone at this backward. Sound will depend on what speakers you pair it with as well as your personal taste.


Reliability is excellent with the Aragons but donno about Sunfire. Maybe a Sunfire owner can chime in.


I would not worry about resale that much as you have bough both these used so the loss should be minimal if any.


Don't know what kinda features could be expected from an amp other than balanced inputs coz RCAs are standard.
