I'm interested in building a 3d capable htpc and allround setup and i want to do it right. What are the best components for 3d. Things I'd like my HTPC to be.


-Very very very quiet


-good cpu and this gpu 6850




-a passive reald3d setup 2x beamers 1080p (

Did you read the article I cited? You should have a good idea what hardware/software to buy. There is no 3D media center so far. You have to use an external 3D player.


- CPU/mb/RAM: The selection depends on your budget and your gaming requirement. E.g. Intel Core i3/i5 + P55 or AMD Athlon/Phenom II X3/X4 + 880G/890GX/890FX (check my recommendations).

- GPU: HD 6850 is a good choice.

- Driver/player: The article is a good starting point.

thank you the article is very helpfull. Can you recommend me a cheap but very reliable 1080p projector?

For example, Optoma HD20, BenQ W1000, PowerLite Home Cinema 8100 (EH-TW3500), ~1000USD.
