Ok I have a Hitachi Ultravision 65" and I love it. So today my wife is cleaning the screen as stated in the manual with a damp soft cotton towel and after she cleans it there is this UNGODLY blotch in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It looks as if I had two screens and some ink got inbetween the screens and smeared up. Any ideas of what this is? Could it be water on the inside of the screen from the damp cloth? Will it go away, am I screwed and if I am screwed how screwed am I (how much money am I srewed ou of to fix.)

I would guess that water mixed with paint/debris wicked up between your protective outer screen and your lenticular screen. On my mitsubishi the outer screen is removable, not sure about hitachi. It is held in place by plastic strips. If you can remove your screen you should be able to clean it. I would recommend a microfiber cloth and distilled water.

Any ideas on how to remove it or where I could go to find out?

I checked the link you left, the instructions for removal of the screen are there but under a paid section. If anyone is paid and can give me a quick overview I would appreciate. All the help so far is much appreciated.

Hopefully you are still under warranty of some kind. I doubt it will be a terribly expensive fix though. The screen is just that a screen. All the expensive stuff is inside the light engine. Here's hoping water didn't get in there.

If you check the V500 owners thread, other people have had similar problems with screen separation of some sort. It may well be that it goes away when whatevers in there evaporates. Maybe try turning up the thermostat for a night.

I wouldn't recommend taking apart the screen. Unlike the Mits DLP outer shield, the screen is not meant to be removed by consumers.

But if you've been married a while, this is fantastic leverage. You could probably negotiate a new flat panel system in a couple of years... 'because you broke our last one honey'. ;)
