we have a sony video projector at work, that can handle pal, ntsc and secam color systems, 4:3 and 16:9. we do movie nights here and i wanted to be able to bring in my region 2 and 3 dvd's, some ntsc and some pal. we're all on the poor side, so we decided to buy a cheapo $100 daewoo 5800 from sam's club, so we could do the easy remote hack and play all region's and also pal/ntsc. the region things is fine, easy hack. but the problem i'm having is that when playing a pal dvd w/ all the settings set to pal or pal-m (on the projector) and the dvd player set to multi ( you only have 2 choices, ntsc or multi) i get a black and white image. but if i put the dvd player on ntsc and then the projector on auto, everything is fine. i'm just curious about what i might be doing something wrong or what???? we're going s-video out of the dvd player to the projector (no component on the projector). i tried a few different s cables just in case and even composite, all the same results, b&w.

any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
