I bought myself a new Yamaha rx-v475 av receiver that has hdmi inputs.
At the moment if I connect my laptop to my amp, I only get video, no sound. If I connect my laptop to my tv (that's connected to my amp through ARC) I get both video and sound. I was wondering is it possible to get only the sound from my laptop (and not also video) using hdmi cable? Or do I have to use RC cable if I want only the sound?
I want to be able to watch tv and listen to music from my laptop at the same time or turn off the tv and just listen to music, but I can't figure out the connections.
