Help with LG 50PX5D Plasma

I have a 50PX5D. The PQ of this model is great!


I Have a HTPC hooked up to it. I have some quiestions.


The VGA connections is limited to a max of 1024x768 and will only accept the resolutions in the manual. None are widescreen resolutions.


I also tried via DVI to HDMI/DVI input. That I can get 720p (1184x 682) or the PC resolution in the manual. Again none are widescreen except the 720p i used above.


Also, there is a screen adjustment to fix the overscan ... but is it only active for the non widescreen PC resolution up to 1024x768.


All the PC resolutions with RGB/HDMI are useless as they are streched to fit the entire screen. Therefore viewing picture, home movies and DVD's is ugly.


Is there anything in the service menus that would allow me to do more? Any firmwares updates?


Was hoping for native res in the thru HDMI ....
