Just two days ago, my remote has been acting up on my Barco Data 800. Now, it won't even respond when I try and set up the machine. The light flashes on the unit not connected to the remote when I push a button, so it knows I'm pushing buttons, but doesn't display anything when I go into setup, or change inputs.

If anyone knows what might have happened, please tell me. I haven't tampred with the remote before this happened. I tried unplugging the remote from the unit, and plugging it back in, still the problem exists. If you have any ideas, please get back with me! Thanks!!

Hey Brandon,

It sounds like (for whatever reason), the remote has dumped the address of your projector. To change this, simply press the inset "ADDR" button on your remote; the projector's address will be displayed on your screen. Then, enter the three digit address number you see displayed into the remote; you should be back in business.

Hope this helps!

Usually the address is '000'.

I held the address button on the remote, nothing came up. I tried holding it in, and pressing 000, nothing happened. Just the light on the unit's controller unit stop flashing when I pressed the buttons, and flashed when I unpressed buttons.

Still don't know what could be wrong. Although, once I hit setup, and the setup screen came on, but stoped working after that.

Thanks for your suggestions!! Maybe I just have a falty remote. Anyone know where I can get a replacement for cheap? hehe Thanks!!

Brandon,

Also make certain that you do not have florescent room lighting anywhere remotely close to the ir (infrared) receivers on the projector. There is an ir reciever on the projector front side and one on the back. Florescent light pulses will disrupt interpretation of the ir codes and foul up even the signals tied to the wired remote.
