I bought and assembled the flat pack devastator, Lavoce 21, NX6000D. My equipment is Marantz SR6001, Martin Logan Mains & Magnepan surrounds powered by a Sherbourn 7 channel amp. I also have an SVS 20-39PCPlus which I have disconnected at the moment. I have the RCA preout to XLR cable from Monoprice going into Channel A on the 6000. I have speakon cable out channel A to the box speakon connector and have 1+ and 1- connected to the Lavoce. Room is a dedicated room over a 3 car garage, vaulted ceilings and about 18ft wide x 28 ft long. Devastator and all equipment is behind a false screen wall.

I am getting sound and rumbling and at a low volume I can feel it when standing in front of it. As it gets louder it sounds almost hollow like the ocean waves when there is no real LFE happening. I have the mains in the Marantz set to small so all LFE goes to the Devastator. When the lows hit it sounds pretty good but it is everything else that sounds hollow. Something must be wrong as I am disappointed compared to my 10+ year old SVS. Here are some screenshots of the 6000 settings. Please help!

We're going to need a lot more info than that. How many lights are you flickering on the amp? The devastator has more output on 10 watts than the 20-39 has full tilt. I have a feeling that you may have your gain structure set up in a way that you aren't even feeding it a watt. Pro amps aren't quite the same as plate amps. You usually have to run the knobs much higher than you would on your SVS, because they are made for the higher voltage that pro audio gear sends in comparison to the lower voltage home audio RCA outputs send. Your pictures show you at -48dB or -36dB on the output. You aren't feeding that sub any wattage there.

Also, make sure you disable audyssey as that is presently tuned for your old sub. That would explain the "hollow" bass you describe.

side note: why are you in bi-amp mode? Just use dual mono, especially if you only have one of devastator hooked up presently.

Why is your phase set to 180 degrees? Is that intentional?

I didn't follow the design too close but I think the top end was tuned to 80hz? If so maybe the low pass should start at 80hz and be pretty steep? Your low pass on the amp is 120hz.

As suggested, make sure your amp attenuator knobs are cranked up to the right enough to where you’re getting several lights flickering during bass content. Your gain in the software being +6.8 and the huge +12dB and +8dB PEQ you’re running tells us something is obviously way off, possibly in the gain structure; however, these amps have a lower input sensitivity than most pro amps and don’t need really high voltage input to reach their full potential or at least solid output.

Also, have you modeled the PEQ you added at 20Hz to make sure it’s safe? Because +12dB near tuning seems like it’s probably way beyond that driver’s limits in a Devastator, but I’m just basing this off modeling of the LaVoce for my 10 cu ft cab which is a different animal.

The phase at 180 is ok, as Behringers I believe are still inverting this feature in the software.

Do you have REW or the ability to measure its response in room?

Thanks for the help everyone. John from GSG also emailed me and sent me some changes to make. I think the biggest difference was turning off Audessy on the Marantz and the knobs on the front of the 6000D. I had them at 12 O'clock. Man what a difference!! I tested the depth charge scene on U-571 and my kids came in because they thought we were having an earthquake. Have some little tweaking to do but it is worlds better!!

I was going to say I just added 2 devastors to my 4 v3s and it pushed it from insane to downright scary in there. I was going to comment last night and say reach out to John but looks like he beat me to it lol
