Just purchased the panasonic and when I go to turn it on, it automatically goes into standby mode (after 2 seconds). I cannot figure it out and neither can Panasonic. Has anyone heard of or dealt with this problem.

thanks,

I am about the lowest tech guy here - but since no one else responded, i'll take a crack at it.

Do you get a "no signal" message flashing on the screen for a couple seconds before the set goes into "standby"? If so, maybe it isn't reading your signal source. I have assumed you have picked the correct signal source (PC, component etc.)

"Standy mode" on my set means the little light in the lower left corner is red and there is no picture.

Is that what you are experiencing?

If it is automatically doing this I can only assume that it is defective. Mine has never had this problem.
