Hope someone can help here:

I have a Panny 42PWD8UK. I had it hooked up with component cables to my Motorola 6200 HD cable box. Picture was excellent. As we (most of us) always think things can get better, I ordered the DVI blade to hook up a DVI cable from my cable box and free up the components for DVD. After hooking up the cable box with DVI, I noticed all HD stations came in with top and bottom bars, which I prefer not to have.. I then went into the cable box service menu and noticed the following settings with (options) :

TV Type (16:9, 4:3, Letterbox)

DVI Output (480p, 720p, 1020)

4:3 Override (480p,720)

My question is, what are the best settings for my screen and how can I get a full screen picture in HD?

BTW, I havent noticed any improvement in PQ with DVI....guess that was my $150 answer.

Many thanks!

Well i think if you choose 16:9 that should do the trick! And look at the good side, you dvi will give you future proof when new hdcp standard will take effect on new dvds
