I have started ripping my BD disks to mkv and re-encoding the TrueHD track to flac. My HTPC is the new gigabyte 9400 based mobo and my reciever is a Onkyo TX-SR606 (htpc connected via HDMI). So my question is, how do I configure my HTPC to just send the uncompressed multichannel flac to my reciever?

FWIW, XMBC is showing the the audio is flac 48000 Hz 5.1.

Vista 32bit.

I was messing around with the settings and now I only get 2.0 channel PCM. I reversed all settings but the reciever is only powering the front speakers. What a mess...

Nevermind.

In the sound control panel I had my speaker setup for 2.0 channel. Once I changed it to 5.1, I saw PCM MULTICHANNEL on my reciever and it sounds really good! In the past I never messed with that setting as all my mkv's were either encoded with DTS or DD and worked just fine.

I will chalk this up as a learning experience.
