NHTPro. They make the system that I have attached to my squeeze box. Consists of 2 powered sats with 75 watts that have charateristecs of the super series. Then there iis a 10 i8 inch sub. It was nearly a G. But it sounds real good and can play loud without a hint of distortion.

Just a warning. I made the mistake of piping the squeeze box into this with a wav and I could no longer stad MP3s! So I had to re rip things to Wav and FLAC. Storage is the issue then but the sound qaulity is worth it. Good miniotrs like these show it too.
I am very pleased with the Cambridge Soundworks "SoundWorks Amplified Multimedia/Computer Speaker System" - I have 2 sets. I also have used the cheaper "PC Works" version. For the price, it's hard to ignore.
I know you are looking for self powered speakers, but for the price of some of the more expensive units like the Klipsch 5.1 THX certified PC speakers, you could buy a low-end 100W digital receiver (like a Sony or Panasonic) for like $60 and get a pair of full tower or bookshelf speakers. Recently, Fry's was clearing out the Polk Audio R30 towers for $89/pair. Performance wise, a setup like this would crush your average PC speakers. Walk around your local retailers and see what they have in terms of low-end audio. With a few exceptions here and there, most PC speakers are made with crap components and even "crummy" home theater equipment will out perform them.
