Hello all.

I am in the market for a new receiver. I currently have an older Onkyo 5.1 that was part of a HTiB set. It has no HDMI inputs or outputs. I also currently have a 3 year old 720p DLP TV (1 HDMI input on back), which i plan to upgrade to a 1080p model in about 6 months.

Things i will have hooked up are PS3 which i just bought and my HD DVR cable box.

What is a good receiver choice with a $500 budget? I can spend a little more if need be, but id like to shot for around $500.

Im kind of new to most of this so i assume running HDMI for the PS3 and HD DVR to the reciever is the best route? Then HDMI from the receiver to the TV?

Thanks for any help i may receive.

There are also refurbs of last years Denon receivers in your price range.

That Onk 605 will sort of future proof you in that it decodes the advanced audio streams.
