I am a newbie here and currently have an older JVC RX-706V that ran two Paradigm Phantoms and a bose acoustimass six.

I moved into a new home and the old receiver and Paradigms are going into my office for music and editing. I would like to simply upgrade the receiver to a new one with bluetooth, wifi, easy to use, upgradable to a 4K TV down the road, etc.

After reading numerous threads on the AVS forum, it appears the Denon AVR-x2100 and the Onkyo TR-nx636 are the best bang for the buck, have the most features, decent UX. I have noticed both units are having reliability issues over the last six months.

For someone who wants a great receiver that can run my 5.1 bose setup along with a decent pair of outdoor speakers for the pool, are there any major advantages to one over the other besides a phono jack on the Onkyo? I am using the search button and trying to find everything I can.
