This forum has been a tremendous help for a noob like me getting this far in setting up my HTPC.

I've got the system built and windows 7 RC installed. It auto-detected my display (I was impressed... considering I haven't tried building one of these since 2001).

But for some reason, the top, bottom, left and right are off of the screen and I cannot figure out how to correct it.

The resolution is set to 1920x1080 with 30Hz in Windows.

The TV is a KP51WS500 ( http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/mod...P51WS500&LOC=3 ). Connected through DVI.

HTPC Components are as follows:

CASE: Antec Black Aluminum / Steel Fusion Remote Black Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

MB: GIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 9400 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

MEMORY: Kingston DDR2-800 4GB (2x2gb)

OPTICAL: LG CH08LS10 Super Multi Blue Blu-ray Disc Drive

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale 2.8GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80571E7400

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Servicetech571 mentioned in this thread ( http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...php?p=16695939 ) I would need to adjust for overscan, is that what this problem is?

Thanks for any help.

You need to use your Nvidia settings control panel. You can usually find this when you right click your desktop. This settings panel will have different HDTV settings that will help you achieve a your desired settings. I would also suggest downloading the newest video card drivers and software.

Curses. Ok. After surfing google I was afraid someone was going to say that. I'm having the same problem a few people seem to have;

When I go into the Nvidia settings, there are 4 options:

Use NVIDIA scaling

Use NVIDIA scaling with fixed aspect ratio

Use my displays built-in scaling

Do not scale

The radio button is set to "Use my displays built-in scaling" which I believe is where the problem is.

Thing is, whenever I select one of the other ones and hit apply, it says it's applied, but then the radio button moves back to "Use my displays built-in scaling".

Leave it as, "Use my displays built-in scaling"

You have to look NVIDIA Control Panel > Video & Television > Resize HDTV desktop.

You should find nvidia will give you the opportunity to use arrows in all directions to resize the desktop. NVIDIA's control panel is the easiest to use.

Just fool around with the NVIDIA control panel, you'll figure it out. Like James Stewart said, you have to make your own custom resolution

Hmmm...

All I seem to have in Video & Television is "Adjust video color settings" and "Adjust video image settings".

Checking for driver update.
