I'm attaching the floor plan for my dedicated theater room in my new house. I'm having trouble fitting everything in because of the large window on one wall and two doors on the other. I did one layout in Sketchup (w/ a curtain over the window) but I'm not happy because there's nowhere to put the front speakers. I could flip the design but then the screen is over the window. Problem is, the window is a triple and it's 12' W x 5' H.


Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks.

Why two doors into one room?

One is the closet, the other is the entry.


My problems are:

Screen on window wall

--How do I build up my riser so that I can open the door without interference?

Screen on door(s) wall

--Where do I put the front speakers?

Do you have think to use AT (Acoustic Transparent) screen?

And probably do some arrangement to cover the 24" needed for that screen

GREAT IDEA!! I actually had the same eureka moment when I realized you could buy AT screen material for a DIY screen. I had previously ruled out AT because of price but that'll work.

Flip the room 90 degrees - put the screen on the "left" wall with the entrance in the back of the theater. Do you really need two rows of seating or would a huge sectional work?
