Well I've searched and read as many threads as I can find relating to this but can't solve my problem. Like many of you, I intend to use my HTPC to pass data via SPDIF to my receiver for decoding...


I'm running Windows XP, DirectX 9a, and WinDVD4. I am passing data via the Live Drive! SPDIF port (connected to my SB Live! Platinum) to a Denon 3803...


Normal Windows sounds (dings etc) play through the speakers, and if I set WinDVD to Analog Sound it comes through (2 channel stereo only) but when I select "spdif digital out" I get nothing but silence...


I must be missing a setting somewhere... ARGH.

I had this same problem until I downloaded and installed the newest drivers from Creative.


Then everything started working.
