Hello,

I just purchased Samsung's LN46a630. Blu-Ray DVD's look amazing, but the digital and HDTV signals are horrible. I've tried every possible solution, and now I am thinking it might be caused by the 3-way splitter. It is an old Regal GS3DH (5-1000 Mhz, 120 db emi isolation).

Can this cause the poor reception? If so, does anyone have a recommendation for a new one?

The splitter is connected to an HD television and a basic CRT television.

I really appreciatte your help!

2 questions..

1) Is that a co-axial splitter?

2) Cable or Satellite?

Most likely, yes your splitter is to blame. Especially if it is passive and not a powered unit.

If you are using the coaxial in on TV you will only receive the QAM channels which are most likely only your Locals in HD. You are not seeing HD unless you have a cable box using component or HDMI.
